What should you look for in an anti aging skin cream? If you believe the advertising hype and press coverage, you might think you should be looking for something that restores telomere levels.

Telomeres are something like caps on the ends of DNA strands that prevent them from breaking. Shorter telomeres are associated with age and cancer.

Researchers are still trying to find something that promotes telomere replication. If something were available, they would be using it to treat cancer and heart disease, long before it would be available to the public in skin creams.
